Reports to: Building Supervisor

Purpose:  Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, electrical and power systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Constructs, tests and maintains mechanical equipment/control systems and electrical/electronic equipment, instruments, control systems, motor controls, lighting and branch circuits
  • Consults manuals, schematics and drawings to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning.*
  • Determines causes of operating errors in equipment *
  • Understands and interprets National Electrical Codes*
  • Understands and can implement all wiring methods*
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and schematics and makes proper installations*
  • Ability to install wiring methods per NEC*
  • Replaces faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical components and wire*
  • Assists with general construction activities
  • Good knowledge of construction practices
  • Troubleshoots and repairs light fixtures*
  • Precisely follows work orders and specifications*
  • Adheres to all plant safety policies and procedures*
  • Assists in production and maintenance as needed
  • Effectively communicates with maintenance and production employees and with all levels of management*
  • Promotes a positive can-do attitude*
  • Collaborates in cross functional teams*
  • Flexible and open minded to suggestions from others; keen vision for continuous improvement.*
  • Consistently follows all company policies & procedures. *
  • Meets the following physical requirements:*

Stands, walks 90% of the time

Sits 10%

Occasionally lifts or pushes a cart with 30-70 lbs

  • Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Class A Journeyman Electrical License
