Dr. Mike Strobel, President and CEO of Aurora Pharmaceutical, confirmed today that the total scholarship award amount has increased to $100,000.

The scholarship program is open to current third-year veterinary students pursuing their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at an accredited university within the United States.

In total, $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded as follows:

  • 24 individual scholarships of $2,500
  • 6 individual scholarships of $5,000
  • 1 individual scholarship of $10,000

Applications will be reviewed and scored by a committee of Aurora team members based on a combination of background and work experience, community and university involvement, future goals, and submitted essay materials.

“The Aurora Pharmaceutical scholarship program allows students to tell their story, past, present, and future,” said Dr. Peggy Hawkins, DVM, Technical Services Veterinarian at Aurora Pharmaceutical. “Recalling why they wanted to become veterinarians, showing how they got here, and sharing their vision as a veterinarian summarizes their dedication to our profession in a real way.

The 2026 scholarship program will officially launch on January 13, 2026, with all application materials required to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, March 13, 2026. Applicants must be current third-year veterinary students enrolled at an accredited U.S. institution and submit a completed application including background information, work experience, community or university involvement, future goals, an essay, and required signatures and releases.
